Rain-Stopped World Cup 2023 Warm-Up Match Between India and the Netherlands
The warm-up match between India and the Netherlands took place at the Greenfield International Stadium in Thiruvananthapuram, but the match stopped due to the rain. Indian Captain Rohit Sharma and the company have had bad luck in the warm-up stage of the ICC World Cup 2023, and the first match against England was also canceled due to rain in Guwahati.
Virat Kohli in Mumbai Airport
Former Indian Cricket Team Captain Star Virat Kohli was spotted at the Mumbai airport, and he was all set to reunite with his teammates for the Cricket ICC World Cup 2023, according to reports. Virat Kohli was in Guhati with his Indian cricket team for the warm-up match with England, but after the rain in Guhati, the match was adjourned, and he was returned to Mumbai for an emergency reason. He had done all his commitments in Mumbai, and he is on his way to join the team once again before India’s first match in Chennai against the multiple-time World Cup Champions team Australia on Sunday, October 8th. Kohli has not joined the optional practice session in Thiruvananthapuram due to personal reasons and is expected to join the squad before the second warm-up match.
“It was an optional session. He is expected to join the squad soon and could play the warm-up game if required,” a BCCI source privy to developments told PTI on condition of anonymity.
The World Cup warm-up match against the Netherlands will be the last chance for India to get some game time before the start of the tournament proper against Australia in Chennai on October 8.
The Indians had a full-fledged session, with Gill, Surya, and KL Rahul batting for a considerable amount of time against the likes of Bumrah and Mohammed Siraj
Ashwin and Jadeja also rolled their arms over for a considerable period of time, as they both are going to play a massive role in this World Cup on tracks that are expected to offer a turn.
