Women’s Quota Legislation Clears Parliament, Paving the Way for Historic Legal Change

The bill received unanimous support from the Rajya Sabha, and there were no abstentions or negative votes. The bill cleared the Lok Sabha yesterday with the support of 454 MPs. Only the two MPs have voted against the Women Quota Bill. Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi has been present in the Upper House for the voting and passing of the bill.
