Jerusalem, Nov 6: In a heartbreaking incident, a Border Police officer was fatally stabbed, and another officer was injured in a terrorist attack near the Herod’s Gate entrance to Jerusalem’s Old City on Monday morning.
The victims were rushed to Hadassah Mount Scopus hospital, where tragically, the critically wounded officer succumbed to her injuries.

The brave officer was identified as Sgt. Rose Elisheva Lubin, a 20-year-old from Kibbutz Sa’ad in southern Israel. Sgt. Lubin, who hailed from the United States, had moved to Israel in August 2021 and joined the police as a “lone soldier” in March 2022.
The second officer sustained light to moderate injuries during the attack, which took place outside the Shalem police station on Salah al-Din Street in East Jerusalem.
The assailant, a 16-year-old resident of East Jerusalem’s Issawiya neighborhood, was shot dead by other Border Police officers at the scene.
