Prime Minister Narendra Modi made a number of promises to the people of Telangana during his visit to the state on October 2, 2023. He announced that the central government would invest Rs 13,500 crore in the state on a variety of projects.
Here are some of the key promises made by Modi:
- Rs 3,000 crore for the development of the Hyderabad-Vijayawada industrial corridor: This corridor will connect the two major cities of Hyderabad and Vijayawada, and it is expected to boost economic growth in both states.
- Rs 2,500 crore for the development of the Hyderabad-Warangal highway: This highway will connect the state capital of Hyderabad with the city of Warangal, which is a major industrial and educational center.
- Rs 1,500 crore for the development of the Hyderabad-Karimnagar railway line: This railway line will connect the state capital of Hyderabad with the city of Karimnagar, which is a major agricultural and commercial center.
- Rs 1,000 crore for the development of the Nizamabad-Bhongir railway line: This railway line will connect the cities of Nizamabad and Bhongir, which are both major industrial centers.
- Rs 500 crore for the development of the Hyderabad metro rail: The Hyderabad metro rail is a major infrastructure project that is currently under construction. Modi’s announcement of Rs 500 crore for the project will help to speed up its completion.
- Rs 500 crore for the development of the Kakatiya Mega Irrigation Project: The Kakatiya Mega Irrigation Project is a major irrigation project that is currently under construction. Modi’s announcement of Rs 500 crore for the project will help to speed up its completion.

- To release Rs. 200 crore for the development of the Warangal Fort.
- To release Rs. 100 crore for the development of the Vemulawada temple.
- To release Rs. 50 crore for the development of the Basar temple.
- To release Rs. 25 crore for the development of the Jogulamba temple.
- To release Rs. 10 crore for the development of the Sammakka Sarakka temple.
Modi’s promises of Rs 13,500 crore in investments for Telangana are a welcome development. The state has been lagging behind in terms of development, and these investments will help to boost economic growth and improve the quality of life for the people.
It is important to note that Modi’s promises are just that promises. It remains to be seen whether the central government will actually deliver on these promises or not. However, Modi’s visit to Telangana and his announcements of investments are a sign that the central government is paying attention to the state.
