Pope Francis Skips Speech Due to Illness During Meeting with European Rabbis
VATICAN CITY, Nov 6:
Pope Francis surprised attendees during a meeting with European rabbis on Monday when he decided not to read his prepared speech, explaining that he was not feeling well. The 86-year-old Pope appeared to be short of breath during the encounter.
“Good morning. I greet you all and I welcome you and thank you for this visit, which greatly pleases me. But it happens that I am not well and because of this I prefer not to read the speech but give you a copy,” he told them.

During the meeting, Pope Francis welcomed the rabbis and expressed his gratitude for their visit. However, he decided to provide the attendees with a written copy of his speech rather than reading it aloud due to his health condition.
In the past, Pope Francis has refrained from reading speeches in order to conserve his strength. Despite feeling unwell during the meeting, he is scheduled to host a large gathering with children from around the world later in the day at the Vatican.
As of now, there have been no announcements regarding any changes to the Pope’s schedule for the rest of the day. The Vatican has not provided any further comments on the matter.
