
New Delhi, October 2, 2023: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday paid tribute to Mahatma Gandhi at Rajghat on the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti. He placed a wreath at the Mahatma’s samadhi and bowed his head in prayer.
In his speech, the Prime Minister said, “Mahatma Gandhi’s life and teachings are a beacon of light for the world. His principles of non-violence and truth are more relevant than ever in today’s world.”
The Prime Minister also urged everyone to follow Gandhiji’s ideals and work towards building a peaceful and harmonious world.
President Droupadi Murmu, Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar, and other dignitaries were also present at the event.
Gandhi Jayanti is celebrated on October 2 every year to commemorate the birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi, the Father of the Nation. Gandhiji is known for his non-violent struggle for India’s independence and his principles of truth, non-violence, and love.
