Operation Ajay: Flight Carrying 212 Indians from  Israel Lands safely in Delhi

Oct 13, New Delhi: It’s great to hear that the first flight as part of Operation Ajay successfully landed in Delhi, Air India, carrying 212 stranded Indians from Israel in the early hours of Friday morning. The flight left from the Ben Gurion airport in Israel on Thursday evening

These types of rescue missions are essential in helping citizens return to their home country during emergencies or difficult situations. The coordination and efforts put into such operations are crucial in ensuring the safety and well-being of those affected.

An Indian national who returned from Israel says, “We were in touch with the Indian Government since the second day when all of this started. They were active on WhatsApp groups and in contact with us. They were cooperating with us, providing all the information.”

“I thank the Indian Embassy in Tel Aviv. They supported us. We registered on the portal and the process was very easy. The operation is excellent. We are very happy to come back to India…” said another Indian National

“This is the first time that we are facing this situation over there. We are very thankful to the Indian government, especially Prime Minister Narendra Modi for bringing us back. We are hoping for peace as soon as possible so that we can go back to work as earliest as possible…” said another to ANI

Union minister Chandrashekhar said “Our government will never leave any Indian behind. Our government, our Prime Minister, is determined to protect them, bring them back home safely. We are grateful to EAM Dr S Jaishankar, the team at the External Affairs Ministry, the flight crew of this Air India flight for making this possible, for bringing our children back home safely and soundly and back home to their loved ones,” he told the news agencies.

The Israeli government has told Indian authorities that “There are around 18,000 Indian citizens in Israel, including 1,000 students whom we love very much. The Indian business community, whom we love and respect very much, contribute to our economy in a big way. The Israeli government is doing the utmost to assist the Indian Embassy in Operation Ajay,” Kobbi Shoshani, consul general of Israel in Mumbai told news agency ANI.

Similar to India, Nepal also evacuated its citizens from Israel. Nepal Foreign Minister Narayan Prakash Saud says, “Till now, a total of 557 Nepali citizens have registered themselves, out of which 503 wanted to return back to Nepal and a total of 254 students have been evacuated under the first phase of evacuation…”

The first Flight of 254 students arrived in Nepal’s Capital Katmandu.
