Indian Speed Skating Team Wins Bronze in Men’s 3000m Relay at Asian Games
October 2, 2023, Hangzhou, China: The Indian men’s speed skating team of Anandkumar Velkumar, Siddhant Rahul Kamble, and Vikram Rajendra Ingale claimed the bronze medal in the 3000m relay event at the Asian Games in Hangzhou, China on Monday.
The Indian team finished with a time of 4:34.861 minutes, behind China (4:27.516) and South Korea(4:30.797), who won Gold and Silver, respectively.
The team put on an incredible display of teamwork and determination to finish third on the podium, behind South Korea and China. This is India’s second bronze medal in speed skating at the Asian Games, after the women’s team won a bronze in the same event earlier on Monday.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi took to Twitter to congratulate the team on their victory. He wrote, “Congratulations to the Indian men’s speed skating team for winning a bronze medal in the 3000m relay at the Asian Games. This is a historic achievement, and it makes us all proud.”
