Military strike on refugee camp killed 29 including women and children in Myanmar

Oct 10 (Wyanews): A powerful explosion hit a place where refugees were staying near the border between Myanmar and China. It happened late at night on Monday in a region called Kachin State. At least 29 people, including women and children, lost their lives in this attack. This is one of the deadliest attacks on innocent people since the military took control of Myanmar again.

The explosion happened about 3 miles from a base in a town called Laiza, which is run by a group called the Kachin Independence Army (KIA). The KIA has been in a long-standing conflict with Myanmar’s military.

The camp was home to over 2,000 people who had been displaced by fighting between the KIA and the Myanmar military. The KIA has been fighting for independence from Myanmar for decades.

The Myanmar military has been accused of carrying out multiple bloody attacks on civilian targets since it seized power in a coup in February 2021. The United Nations has said that the military has committed war crimes and crimes against humanity.

The junta has denied the allegations of war crimes and crimes against humanity. It has said that it is fighting a counter-insurgency campaign against terrorist groups.

The violence in Myanmar has forced over 1 million people to flee their homes. The United Nations has warned that the country is facing a humanitarian crisis.

The international community has condemned the junta’s actions and imposed sanctions on it. However, the junta has refused to back down.

The violence in Myanmar is a tragedy. The people of Myanmar deserve to live in peace and security. The international community must continue to pressure the junta to end the violence and restore democracy.
