London Woman worried about her Parents in Israel Abducted by Hamas

Oct 12, London: Sharone Lifschitz was worried when she heard that a large group of Hamas fighters from Gaza had entered Israel and caused chaos in nearby towns. She tried calling her elderly parents, but they didn’t pick up the phone.

She’s concerned that her parents might be among the many people, including Israelis and foreigners, who were taken back to Gaza by the militants.

Despite her worries, Sharone refuses to give in to hatred as she waits for news about her parents, who are in their 80s. She believes that responding with hate is not the right solution, as that’s what the attackers want. They want to provoke anger and violence, but Sharone is determined not to let that happen.

Her parents lived in a place called Nir Oz in southern Israel, and they were some of the founding members of that community.

Her father, who used to be a journalist, was a peace advocate and would often drive to the Gaza border to help transport Palestinians who needed medical treatment to hospitals in East Jerusalem and other parts of Israel.

Living near the Gaza border meant they were used to occasional conflicts and missile exchanges. They had a safe room for such situations. Just a week before the recent attacks, Sharone’s brothers and their families, along with other relatives, had stayed with her parents for the weekend.

On the day of the attacks, her parents were alone.

As of now, Sharone hasn’t received any information about her parents’ well-being. She’s especially worried because her mother depends on oxygen support, and her father has a lung disease.

The Israeli government has mentioned that they’ve identified 97 people taken as hostages and have stated that they won’t make any exceptions for humanitarian reasons until all hostages are released. They’re determined to defeat the Hamas movement.

Sharone believes that these events are causing great pain and affecting people’s faith in humanity. She calls for help from the international community to bring the survivors back home.
