The rallies were held in response to the recent violence between Israel and Hamas. Hamas launched a rocket attack on Israel on Saturday, October 7, 2023, prompting Israel to respond with airstrikes on Gaza.
Until now The fighting has killed at least 1200 people in Gaza and 1200 in Israel.
The rallies have been met with mixed reactions. Some people have praised the protesters for their support of the Palestinian cause. Others have criticized the protesters for supporting Hamas, which is considered a terrorist organization by many countries.

It has been classified as a terrorist organization by several countries and more than 80 countries supported Israel including the United States, Canada, Japan, Australia, France, India etc,… as per the Foreign Minister of Israel, reported by The Times of Israel.

“The Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan is closely following the recent events that took place in the Gaza Strip and considers everything that is happening as a result of the Israeli aggression and the ongoing violation of the sanctity of Al-Aqsa Mosque and the holy places for Muslims. It considers the Palestinian people’s defense of their freedom and independence of their country and their resistance against the occupation Really legitimate for them. The Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan affirms its support and support for the establishment of an independent Palestinian state on its historical lands, which is a legitimate, historical and legal right of the Palestinian people to defend the independence of the country, and appeals to Islamic countries and the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, The international community, especially those countries that have a clear influence in the region, must stand up to the Israeli aggression against the innocent Palestinian people and cooperate to resolve the Palestinian issue on the basis of granting legitimate rights to the Palestinians.” Ministry of Foreign Affairs Wrote on X formerly known as twitter.
Pakistan:
Most Controversial is In a tweet on Wednesday, he expressed that their victory in a Sri Lanka vs Pakistan World Cup was held on October 10, 2023. It was dedicated to their fellow Palestinians in Gaza. He felt happy to have played a part in the win and credited the entire team, singling out Abdullah Shafique and Hassan Ali for their contributions, which made it all easier.
Iran:
While Iran has denied allegations of aiding Hamas in attacks on Israel, the country’s highest authority, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, praised what he described as Israel’s “irreparable” military and intelligence defeat in his first televised speech since the attack. Khamenei expressed appreciation, saying, “We kiss the hands of those who planned the attack on the Zionist regime.” In response to the attack on Israel, Iran’s President Ebrahim Raisi, after holding phone talks with Palestinian militant leaders, stated that his country “supports the legitimate defense of the Palestinian nation.”
The Iranian government, which has been in a long-standing secretive conflict with Israel and has provided support to the group Hamas, expressed its approval and cheered for Hamas’ attack on Israel that occurred on Saturday.
Kuwait:
“The current war is a stark reminder that lasting peace and prosperity in the region is only possible after resolving the Israeli-Palestinian conflict,” said Bader Al-Saif, a professor at Kuwait University. “No amount of heavy lifting or acrobatics in dealing with Israel on other files can sidestep or erase this simple fact.” as per newyorktimes.
Morocco:
“We stand fully with the rights of the Palestinian people to free their land,” said Hassan Bennajeh, one of the organizers of protests in Morocco. “We are asking to end the normalization because it doesn’t reflect the opinion of Moroccans.”
Island Kingdom of Bahrain:
Abdul Majeed Abdullah Hassan, a 70-year-old who took part in a gathering in Bahrain with hundreds of others, mentioned that it’s the first time they’re celebrating in this manner for their Palestinian brethren. He expressed that the recent Hamas operation, considering the Israeli occupation and blockade, brought them joy and hope. In contrast, he criticized his government’s agreement to recognize Israel, describing it as “shameful.”
Saudi Arabia:
Saudi Arabia has not condemned Israel or Hamas directly. However, the kingdom has been critical of Israel’s settlement policy in the West Bank and has called for a two-state solution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.
Saudi Arabia’s reaction to the Israel-Hamas conflict is likely due to a number of factors, including:
- Saudi Arabia’s close relationship with the United States, which is a strong supporter of Israel.
- Saudi Arabia’s desire to maintain regional stability.
- Saudi Arabia’s concerns about the rise of Iran in the region.
Qatar:
Qatar’s Foreign Ministry has issued a statement calling for De-escalation an immediate ceasefire and for Israel to respect international law and Israel to stop the war before it de-escalates into a wider cycle of violence
Qatar’s support for the Palestinians has been criticized by the United States and its allies. The United States has said that Qatar’s support for the Palestinians is counterproductive and that it undermines the peace process.
Yemen:
Yemen’s Houthi leader, Abdel-Malek al-Houthi, has issued a warning, stating that if the United States directly intervenes in the Gaza conflict, the Houthi group will respond by launching drones and missiles, as well as considering other military options. He emphasized that there are “red lines” concerning Gaza and that the Houthis are prepared to coordinate with other groups and potentially get involved in the situation.
The Yemeni government’s support for the Palestinians is notable given that Yemen is currently embroiled in a civil war of its own
The Yemeni people have also expressed their solidarity with the Palestinian people. Protests have been held in cities across Yemen in support of the Palestinians and in condemnation of Israel’s actions.
Iraq:
The Iraqi Foreign Ministry has issued a statement saying that Israel’s actions are a “war crime” and that they are “violating international law.” The statement also calls for the international community to take action to stop Israel’s offensive.
Armed groups in Iraq with ties to Iran have issued threats to target US interests using missiles and drones if the United States intervenes in support of Israel during its conflict with Hamas in Gaza. The Badr Organization is a significant component of Iraq’s Popular Mobilisation Forces (PMF), a state paramilitary organization that includes various Iran-backed factions. The PMF has expressed its strong support for the Palestinian groups engaged in the conflict against Israel. The Iraqi government has characterized these Palestinian actions as a direct result of what it considers to be “oppressive” policies pursued by Israel.
Lebanon:
Hezbollah, a Lebanese Shia Islamist political party and military organization, also condemned Israel’s actions in Gaza and threatened to retaliate if Israel attacked Lebanon. Hezbollah is considered a terrorist organization by the United States and other countries.
The Lebanese people also expressed their support for the Palestinian people. There were protests in Beirut and other Lebanese cities in support of the Palestinians.
Hezbollah, a Lebanese group backed by Iran and a significant adversary of Israel, has claimed to be in “direct contact with the leadership of the Palestinian resistance.” They view the current events as a “decisive response to Israel’s continued occupation and a message to those seeking normalization with Israel,” as reported by Reuters. Additionally, a senior Hamas official has stated that Lebanese Hezbollah “will join the battle if Gaza is subjected to a war of annihilation,” as reported by the Associated Press. This suggests that Hezbollah may become involved if the situation escalates to an all-out conflict in Gaza.
These countries have provided Hamas with financial and military support, as well as diplomatic recognition.
In addition to the countries listed above, Hamas also has a network of supporters in the Palestinian diaspora, particularly in the Middle East and Europe. These supporters provide Hamas with financial and logistical support.
It is important to note that there is a range of views on Hamas within these countries and not all governments or citizens support the group.
What about Palestinians who live in Gaza?
Hamas is a group that controls Gaza, but they’re not the same as all of Palestine. There haven’t been any elections in Gaza for about 18 years, which makes it questionable whether they are a legitimate government. If Hamas is so popular, why not hold elections to prove it?
A poll from July 2023 found that:
- 62% of Gazans wanted Hamas to keep the ceasefire, showing they didn’t want a war with Israel.
- 50% of Gazans wanted Hamas to stop calling for the destruction of Israel.
- 70% wanted the Palestinian Authority, which runs the West Bank, to take control of Gaza. Most Gazans prefer the Palestinian Authority over Hamas.
Reminder: The above poll is in many reports and also mentioned by famous Indian Journalist Palki Sharma Upadhyay In FirstPost.
The support that Hamas receives from these countries is controversial. Some people believe that Hamas is a legitimate resistance movement for the Palestinian cause, while others believe that it is a terrorist organization.
The support that Hamas receives also has implications for the peace process between Israel and the Palestinians. Some people believe that the support that Hamas receives from these countries complicates the peace process, while others believe that it provides Hamas with leverage in negotiations with Israel.
The Israel-Hamas conflict is a complex issue with no easy solutions. It is important to understand the perspectives of all sides involved in the conflict.
