The Deputy Leader of the Shiv Sena, MP Priyanka Chaturvedi, responded to the incident that happened in Kathua. She condemned the actions of the government teacher who thrashed the 10th-grade boy for writing Jai Shree Ram on the blackboard. Priyanka Chaturvedi is the MP for the area where the incident happened. She condemned the government teachers and put pressure on the education department to take action against the teachers who punished the 10th-grade student for writing Jai Shree Ram on the board.

  • The incident took place at the Government school in Kathua district. A 10th-grade student was trashed by the Muslim government teacher and principal for writing the Jai Shree ram on the blackboard.
  • On August 25, a 10th-grade minor boy father, Kuldeep Singh, made a complaint as his son was punished by Farooq Ahmed, a government lecturer at Government Higher Secondary School Bani, and Mohammed Hafiz, principal of the same institution, police officials said.
  • Following the complaint, a case was registered against the accused at police station Bani under sections 323, 342, 504, and 506 of the Indian Penal Code and Section 75 of the Juvenile Justice Act.
  • As per the police officials’ records, the government teacher Farooq Ahmed was arrested on Saturday while the principal of the same institution, Mohammed Hafiz, was absconding.
