India’s Deepthi Jeevanji Clinches Gold in 400m T20 at Asian Para Games

Asian Para Games Updates: India has continued to shine in the 4th Asian Para Games. Deepthi Jeevanji has secured the gold medal in the women’s 400-meter T20 event. Jeevanji has set a new record in the Asian Para Games with 56.69 seconds in the 400-meter T20 event. This unbelievably strong performance put her in the top position in the tournament. Thailand’s Orwan Kaising gave her best effort, clocking a personal best of 59.00 seconds, but she did not win against Deepthi Jeevanji and secured the silver medal.
Japan Niina Kanno won the bronze medal with a personal best of 59.73 seconds. She lost the second position, 73 seconds behind Orwan Kaising. In the men’s 400m-T64 final match, Ajay Kumar secured the silver medal, clocking a personal best time of 54.85 seconds. Saudi Arabia’s Nour Mohammed has set a new Asian Para Record with a time of 52.8 seconds, which will help him be at the top of the event and secure a gold medal. Thailand’s Jafa Seapla won the bronze medal with a time of 55.09 seconds. On the same day, Manish Kaurav won the bronze medal in the canoe men’s KL3 final event and brought one more medal to India in the day 2 competition. Manish has recorded a time of 44.605 seconds.

India has won 17 medals on Day 1; it includes 6 gold, 6 silver, and 5 bronze medals in the Asian Para Games 2023. The Indian athletes participating in the Asian Para Games are 191 men and 112 women, the largest group.
