Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes Cast Lights Up London’s Red Carpet at World Premiere
London, Nov 10: The stars of “Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes” descended upon London’s red carpet for the world premiere, marking the highly anticipated return of the billion-dollar film franchise after an eight-year hiatus.
Actress Rachel Zegler, along with co-stars Tom Blyth, Hunter Schafer, and Josh Andres Rivera, greeted enthusiastic fans who gathered for the celebration. The latest installment, set 64 years before the original Hunger Games movie, explores the backstory of Panem’s tyrannical ruler, Coriolanus Snow, portrayed by Tom Blyth.

Speaking about the film, Zegler expressed her desire to pay homage to her 12-year-old self, a fan of the original films, stating, “I just wanted to do a good service to me and my 12-year-old self that loved the films. And it was just such a joy to get to do that.”
Hunter Schafer, known for her role in HBO’s “Euphoria,” described the experience as “unbelievable,” reflecting on how her younger self could not have comprehended the emotions she feels now.

The movie, based on Suzanne Collins’ bestselling books, follows Lucy Gray Baird, played by Zegler, as the tribute in the 10th Hunger Games. The gladiatorial contest pits the oppressed against each other, while the wealthy Capitol elite observes.

“I got to do my own stunts. I got to hold live animals, sing, dance, cry, run for my life. It’s amazing,” Zegler shared with Reuters news agency.
Despite the Hollywood actors’ strike, which recently ended, the cast received a waiver to attend the premiere. The strike, lasting four months, had restricted movie stars from promoting their films.
The Hunger Games superfans, braving the rain and cold, lined the red carpet, eager to catch a glimpse of their favorite actors. Director Francis Lawrence described the film as a “different kind of movie, very much a Hunger Games movie, but a different kind of story and different characters.”
The highly anticipated “Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes” is set to hit cinemas worldwide on November 17.
