2023 Elections Schedule Unveiled by Election Commission for Five States

The Election Commission of India has announced the dates for the Assembly election in the five states that will be held next month. The poll body has announced the dates for the elections in Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Telangana, Rajasthan, and Mizoram. Chhattisgarh will vote in two phases on November 7 and 17, while Mizoram will go to the polls on November 7. The elections will be held in Madhya Pradesh on November 17, Rajasthan on November 17, and Telangana on November 30. The results will be declared on December 3.

The BJP ruled that Madhya Pradesh will elect the legislators from the 230 constituencies, while the Congress governs the Rajasthan Assembly, which comprises 200 seats. In Telangana state, BRS will face the BJP and the Congress over the 119 Assembly seats. In the 90-seat Chattisgarh assembly, the Congress is ready to contest with the BJP, while both parties are attempting to get a foothold in the 40-seat Assembly of Mizoram, currently led by the Mizo National Front.

The Madhya Pradesh Assembly election will be held in a single phase on November 17. It will be followed by voting in Rajasthan on November 23 and in Telangana on November 30. The final round of the polls this year will begin with Mizoram voting on November 7th. In these 2023 elections, only Chattisgarh State has two phases of voting. The first will be voting in Mizoram on November 7th, the second will be in Madhya Pradesh on November 17th, and the voting results will be announced on December 3rd.

There are approximately 16 crore people going to cast their vote in this round of elections, which will be seen as the semifinals, and it will take place in the months before the 2024 Lok Sabha Elections.
