New Delhi: Union Minister for Information and Broadcasting Anurag Thakur on Wednesday took potshots at the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and its supremo Arvind Kejriwal, saying that the kingpin of the Delhi liquor scam is still out and that his turn will come soon.

“People to whom Arvind Kejriwal gave honesty certificates are going to jail one by one. His deputy chief minister is in jail, his health minister is in jail, and his ministers in Punjab are also going to jail. Kejriwal is now worried about his turn. He knows that he is next in line to be arrested,” Thakur said at a press conference in Delhi.

Thakur’s comments come days after the arrest of AAP MLA Sanjay Singh in connection with the Delhi liquor scam. The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has alleged that Singh was involved in a conspiracy to give undue favors to liquor companies in exchange for kickbacks.

On the arrest of AAP MP Sanjay Singh, his wife says, “They questioned and searched the house, computer, and documents but did not find anything. There was pressure upon them (ED officials) to arrest him and they arrested him. They (ED) did not give us any reason. We all are with him. He has been arrested in a fake case…”

The AAP has denied the allegations of corruption and has accused the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) of targeting its leaders out of political vendetta.

The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has arrested three Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leaders in separate money laundering cases under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA).

The ED is a central government agency that investigates money laundering cases. The PMLA is a law that empowers the ED to seize assets that are suspected to have been obtained through money laundering.

It is important to note that the three AAP leaders are presumed innocent until proven guilty by the law
