The KSRTC, the Workers Federation, and the BMTC support the Bengaluru Bandh Call. Several organizations are calling the Bengaluru Bandh to protest against the government’s decision to release the Cauvery Water to Tamil Nadu, and various transportation services are at risk in the Karnataka Capital. BMTC services and KSRTC services are affected by the Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation Staff, the Workers Federation, and the Bengaluru Metropolitan Transport Corporation, which have supported the Bengaluru Bandh Call.

  • Due to the lack of rain, over 195 taluks in the state are facing droughts, and the water that is in the reservoirs in the state will not be sufficient for use.
  • In this situation, it would not be possible to allow the 5,000 cusecs of water from Karnataka to reach Tamil Nadu every day.
  • Political parties, pro-Kannada organizations, and others across the state have already joined in the struggle for justice, said the KSRTC staff and Workers Federation on Saturday.
  • The KSRTC union urged the employees not to run any buses in the city from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. on September 26.
  • The Ola Uber Drivers and the owners of the association extended their support to the bandh and announced the services would not be available in Bengaluru on Tuesday.

The Private Schools Union, the Restaurant, and the Hotel Association have already stated that they are supporting the Bandh call. State-wide agitations are also planned for September 29, and the Bengaluru Police are on high alert and have taken all adequate security steps to avoid any untoward incidents.
