India’s Impressive Performance at Asian Games 2023: Medalists and Champions

India has won eight gold medals at Hangzhou 2023: one gold, three silver, and four bronze. A total of 655 Indian athletes are competing at the Asian Games 2023 in Hangzhou, the People’s Republic of China. The 19th edition of the Continental Multisport event officially began on September 23 and will conclude on October 8. The quadrenial meet was originally scheduled for 2022, but it was postponed due to COVID-19. In Hangzhou 2023, India will field 68 athletes, which is the country’s largest contingent in any sport.
- Neeraj Chopra is the World Olympic and Asian Games Champion; the Commonwealth Games Men’s 3000m silver medalist is Avinash Sable; and the Women’s High Jump Sensation is Jyothi Yarraji.
- Both the men’s and the women’s cricket teams are participating in cricket, hockey, and football, and the representation is seen in India.
- The Indian Boxing Team, featuring world champion Nikhat Zareen and Olympic medalist Lovlina Borgohain, and the Indian Wrestling Team, featuring Olympic medalists Bajrang Punia and Antim Panghal, are also strong medal contenders.
