Praveen Chitra Grabs Bronze and Tejaswin Shankar, Afsal Secures Silver Medal in Asian Games 2023
Praveen Chitravel secured a bronze medal in the men’s triple jump with the best jump of 16.68 meters in the ongoing 19th Asian Games in Hangzhou. He said this while speaking to ANI. Despite winning the bronze medal in the men’s triple jump, Indian athlete Praveen, the bronze medal winner in the men’s long jump, said that he was not yet satisfied with his performance in the event and that he wanted to dedicate the medal to his junior athletes and his coaches.
“Performance-wise I am not happy but I got the bronze medal in the Asian Games so I am happy. But I am not happy with the performance,” Chitravel told ANI. The Indian Prime Minister appreciated on his X and said, “Another remarkable achievement in Athletics! Huge congratulations to @PraveenChatri1 on winning the Bronze Medal in Men’s Triple Jump event. This outstanding performance today has brought glory to our nation.”

In the Asian Games, at the end of the eight events in men’s decathlon, Tejaswin Shankar is at 6431 points, won the silver medal in the event, and was 91 points behind China’s Sun Qiho. He won the gold medal with 6522 points and secured the bronze medal. Yuma Maruyama is at 6223 points, 208 points behind Indian player Tejaswin. While the Tejaswin personal best is 7648 and the Qihao is 7852, the Asian Games decathlon event is finished.

Indian athlete Mohammed Afsal Pulikkalakath won silver with a timing of 1:48:50 in the men’s 800m at the Asian Games 2023 in Hangzhou.
