A.R. Rahman Slaps ₹10 Crore Lawsuit on Surgeons Association Over Alleged Defamatory Statements

Indian Music Director AR Rahaman was to perform at the event for the Association of Surgeons of India in 2018, but it was canceled at the last minute, and he did not repay their advance amount to them. The music composer has sent a legal notice to the Association of Surgeons of India, which has complained against him as a fraud.

He asked for 10 crore as compensation. In the last month, the Association of Surgeons filed a case against AR Rahman at the Chennai Police Commissioner’s office. They planned to hold an annual program on behalf of the Society of Surgeons, and the music composer AR Rahman arranged a musical event for this in 2018, and the Surgeon Association has given Rs 29.5 lakh to AR Rahman as an advance, but unfortunately, the program has been canceled due to the Tamil Nadu government not giving permission for that program.

After this happened, the Surgeon Association team asked for the advance payment from AR Rahman, and his team returned the check to the Surgeon Association, but the check bounced. The Surgeons Association Executive Senthil has lodged a complaint against AR Rahman and requested to take action against AR Rahman and his secretary.

A notice has been sent from the side of AR Rahman to the Surgeons Association, asking for compensation and saying that their contract for the event and the amount are refunded because of the cancellation. It has been informed that if an apology is not given within 15 days, a compensation of 10 crore rupees will be sought. In the last month, AR Rahman’s concert with Marakuma Nenjam in Chennai has received backlash from his fans for the mismanagement by the organizers of the event.

At the concert, there are bad stampede situations, with many women sharing accounts of molestation as well. The ACTC Event Founder and CEO, Hemanth, who is the organizer of the AR Rahman concert, gave clarification on the unfortunate incidents during the concert, and he took to his social media platform to apologize in a video. “We take responsibility for evrything. Please don’t attack AR Rahman he is now where connected with organizing the event”.
