
NASA and the European Space Agency (ESA) will host a preview of two upcoming spacewalks on Friday, October 6, at 1pm ET (1700 UTC). The spacewalks will take place on October 12 and October 20
Dana Weigel, Elias Myrmo, Faruq Sabur and Sandra Fletcher will join the news conference said by NASA
During the preview, NASA and ESA officials will discuss the goals of the spacewalks, the tasks that will be performed, and the new technologies that will be tested. They will also answer questions from the media and the public.
The first spacewalk is scheduled to begin at 10 a.m. and last about six hours with NASA TV coverage beginning at 8:30 a.m.
On Oct. 12, O’Hara and Mogensen will exit the station’s Quest airlock to collect samples for analysis to see whether microorganisms may exist on the exterior of the orbital complex
