Chandrayaan-3 2023: Lander Successfully Acquires Data from Lunar Surface - Wyanews

ISRO tweeted that The Dual-frequency Synthetic Aperture Radar (DFSAR) instrument on board the Chandrayaan-2 Orbiter captured this photo of the Chandrayaan-3 Lander on September 6, 2023. The Indian Space Research Organization tweeted that Around 08:00 IST today, Vikram Lander was put into sleep mode. Prior to it, in-situ tests are carried out at the new site by theΒ ChaSTE, RAMBHA-LP, and ILSA payloads. The Earth receives the collected data. Payloads are currently turned off. Receiver Landers are kept on. Once the battery is dead and the solar power is gone, Vikram will fall asleep close to Pragyan. The awakening is anticipated for about September 22, 2023.

  • On September 6, 2023, the high-resolution polarimetric mode of the Chandrayaan-2 DFSAR was imaged by Vikram Lander.
  • Due to the high intensity of even bounce scattering, which is a feature of vertically oriented human-made objects, the lander appears prominent.
  • The pre-landing image is also juxtaposed to confirm the Lander DFSAR instrument development, SAR image processing, and SAC-ISRO recognition of the object.
