Former Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu’s Arrest: Unraveling the Grounds

Former Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh and Telugu Desam Party Chief Nara Chandrababu Naidu was accused by the Ys Jagan Government of masterminding a 371-crore scam in the state skill development corporation. Chandra Babu Naidu was arrested early in the morning at his residence in Nandyal, nearly 300 km from Hyderabad, Telangana State. The supporters of the TDP party clashed with police personnel who reached Nandyal to arrest Chandra Babu Naidu.
- Chandra Babu Naidu was stationed in Nandyal and shifted to Vijayawada. The senior officer of the State CID addressed the media and said that Nara Chandra Babu Naidu is the prime accused in connection with the alleged fraud.
- N Sanjaya, Andhra Pradesh CID Additional DGP, said that the case was resolved around the establishment of the centers of excellence in Andhra Pradesh, and the Andhra Government has released Rs 371 crore, and the money was diverted by the shell companies using the fake invoices.
- The investigation reveals that Mr. Chandra Babu Naidu was the principal conspirator in these matters. Transferring government funds to private enterprises through Shell companies has happened. Mr. Naidu, an active leadership officer, said that the government has determined that Chandra Babu Naidu meticulously planned, directed, and executed the plan for the scam.
- The MoU said that the Andhrapradesh Government would contribute 10 percent of the project cash of 3,356 crore, and it is alleged that the whopping 371 crore was disbursed in three months with five installments.
- Siemens had not invested any funds in the project. The center of the alleged scam is the Andhra Pradesh State Skill Development Corporation, set up under Chandra Babu Naidu to provide job training to the youth.
- The sources said that the TDP entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the German engineering firm Siemens, and the project was executed by a state skill development partnership with Siemens Industry Software India Ltd. and Design Tech Systems Pvt. Ltd.
Andhra Pradesh’s Former Chief Minister Chandra Babu Naidu, on his X, tweeted, “For the past 45 years, I have selflessly served Telugu people. I am prepared to sacrifice my life to safeguard the interests of Telugu people. No force on earth can stop me from serving Telugu people, my #AndhraPradesh and my motherland” The sources alleged that the Rs 241 crore was diverted to the various Shell companies, which include Allied Computers, Skillers India Pvt. Ltd., Knowledge Podium Cadence Partner, and ETA Greens. Mr. Naidu’s arrest was condemned by the opposition parties, and it was called the Witch Hunt by the ruling YSRCP party. The arrest has sparked protests from supporters, who have blocked the roads.
