As per the report of the ANI, Bhanu Gupta said the massive landslide occurred in the summer hill area of SDM Shimla (Urban). He said that local people have confirmed the count, which could be 21 bodies only 12 bodies were recovered in the last 2 days and our rescue and research are going on to find the remaining bodies In our team, we have the NDRF, SDRF, Army, Local Police, and Home guard. He stated that if we get any positive news about the people being alive, we will rescue them properly.

The Continuous rainfall will persist in the destruction of various areas in Himachal Pradesh, mainly in the hilly areas, and it will lead to the destruction of houses.

A Chinook Helicopter of Western Air Command airlifted the 18 Army officers and a 3-Ton mini-dozer in a single sortie for Rescue efforts in an area affected by the landslides near Shimla, Himachal Pradesh.

Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu held a meeting with the high-powered committee to enhance the disaster management measures, and he highlighted that the 157 percent rainfall over the past four days has led to massive destruction across the whole state.

He said that accelerating the restoration process is the top priority, and he mentioned that of the blocked roads, approximately 400 out of 1,220 were Successfully reopened. The Chief Minister gave clear instructions to restore disrupted electricity and water systems. Due to the Urban Expansion of Shimla and the Uprooting of 500 trees by the Torrential rain, the residents are facing many problems. The Forest Department dispose the fallen trees, and we arranged adequate manpower to ensure the efficient execution of this task. The Teaching and administration offices are closed upto to August 19 in Himachal Pradesh due to the Heavy Rains.
